Abel
+
The Brand

Abel is the happy by-product of founder, and former winemaker, Frances Shoemack’s failed search for a truly beautiful, all-natural perfume.

The more she learnt about the petrochemical-based industry and the toll it takes on not only us, but the environment, the more she realised that this was something she needed to do.

Founded by Frances Shoemack.

+
The Philosophy

Ten years on and Abel’s mission has remained the same – to create the world’s best natural perfume without compromising on ethics or aesthetics.

They believe in the power and beauty of 100% natural scents and their ability to enrich daily life in a way nothing else can. “Because we owe it to nature, and it’s important in everything we do, we’re conscious of the impact of our creation and consumption.”

+
The Ingredients

Their fragrances are made from natural, plant-derived ingredients that are readily biodegradable in the ecosystem. All products are vegan and cruelty free with all ingredients ethically sourced. They believe in complete ingredient transparency and provide a full list of ingredients in all fragrances.

Activist
+
The Brand

Activist is a Mānuka Honey company founded by wife and husband, Gabrielle Mirkin and Luke Harwood. Their shared passion for the earth and natural products can be traced to our childhoods in New Zealand.

Luke’s love for surfing and the native coastal land of New Zealand led him to understand the important role bees play as environmental indicators and was the founding catalyst for ACTIVIST, whilst Gabrielle’s love for radiant health, natural healing therapies and food from the earth was a central driver for the development of the brand.

Founded by Gabrielle Mirkin & Luke Harwood.

+
The Philosophy

As a family they’ve built a company that works prolifically with natural resources, not only natural resources but ones with an origin from their native country of New Zealand; which is their larger playground and one which they have a deeper understanding with. The ability to build a brand with limited industrial impact was something that was very important to them.

+
The Ingredients

ACTIVIST Raw Mānuka Honey is wildcrafted in Aotearoa, New Zealand by bees that pollinate the native Mānuka Bush during a small seasonal window in the spring and summer. Mānuka Honey is a beautiful resource with considerably higher levels of enzymes and antibacterial properties than found in other honey. It is truly one of Mother Nature’s special gifts to us. Their honey is produced in small batches, therefore retaining Mānuka’s value, active nutritional properties and plant enzymes.

+
The Earth

Mānuka itself is a highly sustainable tree as it helps to rejuvenate the soil with minerals while working as a natural purifier for waterways and preventing soil erosion. The hives are located in unique, pristine and isolated regions of New Zealand free of GMOs and urban toxins. The leaves from which the oil is distilled, are returned back to the soil following harvest, creating a mulch and underlay to the earth’s ground.
